In partnership with the Faculty of Business Administration of Université Laval (FSA ULaval), this project will promote the long-term investment philosophy adopted by COTE 100 and develop investment patience among students enrolled in the finance program, while supporting them financially.
Thanks to the COTE 100 donation, a sum of $20,000 per year will be invested by a cohort of finance students from FSA ULaval in the COTE 100 Fund, a philanthropic fund of Université Laval. The cohort will receive specific training and must propose investment strategies that meet several criteria, including investing in a maximum of 20 equally-weighted stocks and the obligation to hold them for the next 20 years. A new cohort will be formed each year to support the deployment of the initial capital. The cohorts will be able to track the progress of their investment over the 20-year period.
The returns obtained will be awarded in the form of scholarships and COTE 100 will also award, each year, $5,000 in scholarships to finance students who participated in the development of the chosen investment strategy.
“Since its founding 35 years ago, COTE 100 has approached investment with a vision of long-term growth. We are delighted to partner with FSA ULaval to introduce tomorrow’s managers to this way of investing which aims to minimize risks and obtain sustained growth in assets under management.” Philippe Le Blanc, Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of COTE 100.
“FSA ULaval continues to evolve and is positioning itself among the world’s top business schools, thanks in part to projects like COTE 100. We welcome more than 10,000 students, and we are committed to offering them an education of exceptional quality, including real-world experiences like this one.” Frank Pons, dean of FSA ULaval
“This unique project gives us the opportunity to support the training of future analysts and managers who share the investment philosophy that we put forward from our Quebec office and our head office. This next generation will eventually be able to join a dynamic organization that is experiencing sustained growth like ours.” Sébastien LeBlanc, President and Chief Operating Officer of COTE 100.
